Objectives
- Use the complex functions of a CNC,
- Learn how to make toolpaths for complex and double-sided milling with a CNC,
- Learn to mill complicated eyewear parts on a CNC milling machine,
- Assembly of machined parts (without polishing).
Students
Opticians, dispensing opticians and technicians, sales professionals wishing to improve their practice in the use of a CNC machine applied to the creation of frames and components.
Preconditions
- Mastery of CAD (Computer Aided Design).
- Must have taken m06-2 and m06-3.
Duration
- 8 hours training Module.
Educational tools
- Training course carried out exclusively by the French Master Craftsmen in eyewear (Meilleurs Ouvriers de France Lunetiers),
- Maximum 3 trainees per trainer,
- Alternating theoretical, practical and methodological
inputs, - Technical documentation, samples, photos, models of
equipment already made, - Eyewear workshop,
- Supply of various materials and tools,
- The trainee may bring his/her own equipment.
Methods of assessing knowledge
Continuous monitoring: trainees will be evaluated on their theoretical knowledge and skills through exercises and practical cases on the implementation of the different steps.
Exchanges between trainees and trainer.
At the end of the module: the trainees will self-assess their skills as well as theoretical and practical knowledge acquired in this module with exchanges with the trainer.

Course
CAM menu (use of the milling machine and machining)
Machining on a CNC machine.
- Presentation of the software functions,
- The position of the material, the setting of
the X, Y and Z coordinates of the milling
machine in relation to the raw material, - Validation of the position coordinates,
- Defining the position of the cutter via the
keyboard, - Adjustment of manual travel speeds,
- Setting the milling spindle speed according to
the milling cutter used, - Start of machining and safety instructions to
be observed, - Machining the frame designed by the trainee, Tips and tricks to obtain good results.

Certificate of training
A document will be issued to trainees on the basis of the skills they have learned at the end of the course.
